What Else Happens Here?

SteamFest sees thousands of people on site each year. Busy as those 3 days are that's not all that's going on the rest of the year. Take a look here

CAMPING 6th-8th March

Self contained motorhomes and caravans can camp in the following areas:

  1. Sheffield Recreation Grounds Council Parking: The Kentish Council have a hard standing area at the end of Spring Street. An Authorised Council Redwater Creek volunteer will collect $5.00 per motorhome / caravan every evening. Overflow area camping is available in the adjacent pony club.
    OTHER CAMP SITES

      1. Railton CMCA Camping area and Railton self contained Camping area – 15 klms from Sheffield on the Esplanade at Railton. Small fee.
      2. Railton Hotel – at 3 Foster St Railton – for details speak with the Hotel.03 6496 1232
      3. O’Neills Creek Reserve Picnic and Camping area – 16 klms from Sheffield.
      4. Gowrie Park Wilderness Village – 16 Klms from Sheffield. Contact the Park on phone 6492 1385 to obtain details of this camping area.

      If you volunteer for 4 hours per person all money will be refunded. Please contact John Wilson on mob 0403 992 013 or Jill Ridgway on mob 0448 631 922 to discuss volunteer opportunities

Steam Train Ride – card payment

    • Adults: $7
    • Family 2 adults & 3 children : $ 15
    • Children 5 – 16 years : $4
    • Pensioners and Seniors : $ 5
    • Under 5’s and over 90’s:free
    • Miniature Train Ride: $2.00 a ride card payment

    Where is SteamFest held?

    Spring Street Sheffield in the Recreation Grounds.

    Can I park close by?

    Parking is in the fields in Spring Street and overflow parking on the Sheffield School Oval. The School oval is locked off at 6.00 pm.

    Where is disabled parking?

    On Spring Street – these spaces will be marked.

    What are the hours of operation?

    Saturday & Sunday – 9.30 am to 5.00 pm Mon to 4.00pm

    Is EFPTOS available?

    There are NO CASH OUT facilities on the grounds. There is an ATM at the Bendigo Bank, 44 Main St., Sheffield

    Where can I get a map? Maps/site plans are available at the Entry Gates.

    Can I get a pass out ?

    Yes you can. Just ask at the entry/exit gate.

    Where is the Site Office?

    Near Gate 4. Site office also manages Lost Property, Lost Children and suggestions / problem resolution.

    Where is the Volunteer Office?

    Near Gate 3

    Are there disabled toilets?

      Yes – Cubicle 1 in the main concrete block across from the Railway Station and another at the Men’s Shed on site.

    Are dogs allowed?

    Dogs are allowed on a leash. Doggy bags are available at the Site Office.

    Can I hire a wheelchair?

    Unfortunately we do not have wheelchairs for hire.
