Recreation Grounds in Spring St Sheffield
Our 2025 event was a great event with terrific happy crowds, wonderful weather and amazing volunteers who made this incredible event “happen”.
The layout used in 2025 was a new setup and 2026 will follow this arrangement again. Stalls near the Rock Crusher will be moved away from this area because of the dust issue.
Gates open at 9.30 every day and close at 5.00pm on Saturday and Sunday and 4.00pm on Monday.

The Big Shed is a metal clad shed with a gravel composite floor which produces some dust on occasions. We minimise this by watering the floor area for over two days prior to stallholders entering the shed to set up the stalls. Outdoor food stalls are placed around the steam Arena where chairs tables and shade is provided. Non food stalls will be placed on site often under some trees on a grassy area. We are unable to provide wifi or internet for stallholders or exhibitors over the SteamFest weekend.
We are now taking stall booking for the Big Shed, outside stalls and Exhibitors.
We would love to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer.
Enquiries can be made to mob 0448 631 922.

SHEFFIELD DOG PARK on East Victoria Street will be closed the week of SteamFest from 05.03.2026 to 10.03.2026. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
CAMPING arrangements over the weekend – the SteamFest Weekend – 7th, 8th, and 9th March 2026
In the Kentish area there are a number of camping areas for people travelling in self contained motorhomes and caravans. Bookings for camp sites are not possible – we do not take bookings for any of these sites.
Sheffield Recreation Grounds Council Parking: The Kentish Council have an area at the end of Spring Street. An overnight stay is $10 per motorhome/caravan and the fee is collected by a Kentish Council authorized Redwater Creek Volunteer. All sites are unpowered and it is on a first in first served basis. Water and a dump point are available.
Over SteamFest this area fills up quickly over SteamFest and when required overflow camping is available in the adjacent pony club. These are grassy areas some some with shade.
Entry to SteamFest is cheaper by online ticket (go to steamfesttasmania.org.au) or at the gate – $5.00 more expensive. If you volunteer for 4 hours per person your camping fees and entry ticket will be refunded. Please contact jill Ridgway mob 0448 631 922 to discuss volunteer opportunities.
